Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 14 April 2025 · Effective Date: 14 April 2025
1. About These Terms
These terms and conditions govern enrolment in the financial education programmes offered by Heng Yuan (UEN 201703142R), a company registered in Singapore with its principal place of business at 73 Hong Kong Street, #04-05, Singapore 059670.
By completing an enrolment form or making payment toward any Heng Yuan programme, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before enrolling. If you have questions, you are welcome to write to us at [email protected] before proceeding.
2. Nature of Programmes
Heng Yuan provides financial education. Our programmes are designed to help adults understand personal finance concepts relevant to Singapore households — including household balance sheets, CPF, savings, investment categories, insurance, and related matters.
Our programmes are educational in nature. They do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice. Nothing communicated in our sessions, handbooks, or written summaries should be understood as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product, or as advice specific to your personal financial circumstances.
If you require advice specific to your circumstances, we encourage you to consult a licensed financial adviser, a qualified tax professional, or a solicitor as appropriate.
3. Programme Descriptions
We offer three programmes, described briefly below. Full descriptions are available on our website.
-
A.
The Shophouse Series
A four-session group programme held on Wednesday evenings. Each session covers one subject area. Groups are limited to twelve participants. The programme fee is SGD 260.
-
B.
The Considered Household Course
A nine-week course covering the Singapore household financial picture in a structured, considered way. Cohorts are limited to fifteen participants. The programme fee is SGD 450.
-
C.
The Shutters Track
A six-session bespoke programme for individual households, conducted across approximately two-and-a-half months. Each session is private and is followed by a written summary. The programme fee is SGD 730.
Heng Yuan reserves the right to adjust programme content, session scheduling, and the facilitating staff, provided the scope of the programme as described remains substantially intact.
4. Enrolment and Fees
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. Fees are stated in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of any applicable materials, handbooks, or session summaries described in the programme. Fees do not include travel, accommodation, or any other costs incurred by the participant.
Payment may be made by bank transfer, PayNow, or such other methods as we make available from time to time. Details are provided on the enrolment form. Enrolment is personal and may not be transferred to another individual without our prior written agreement.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
We understand that plans can change. Our refund policy is as follows:
-
—
If you notify us in writing at least 14 days before the first session of your programme, you will receive a full refund, less a SGD 30 administrative fee.
-
—
If you notify us in writing between 7 and 13 days before the first session, you will receive a 50% refund of the programme fee.
-
—
If you notify us fewer than 7 days before the first session, or if you do not attend without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
-
—
If you miss one or more sessions within a programme you have commenced, no partial refund is available for sessions missed.
All cancellation requests must be made in writing to [email protected]. The date of receipt of your written notice determines which refund tier applies. Refunds, where due, will be processed within 14 business days.
6. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Heng Yuan
Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control may require us to cancel or reschedule a session or programme. If we cancel a programme before it begins, we will offer you a full refund of the fee paid or, if you prefer, a transfer to a future cohort at no additional cost.
If we need to reschedule an individual session within a running programme, we will notify participants as early as practicable and arrange an alternative date. No refund is due in respect of a rescheduled session that is rearranged within a reasonable period.
We are not liable for any costs you may incur as a result of a cancellation or rescheduling, including travel or accommodation costs.
7. Participant Conduct
Our programmes are conducted in a small-group or private setting. We ask that all participants treat facilitators and fellow participants with courtesy and respect. Recording of sessions — audio, video, or otherwise — is not permitted without the prior written consent of Heng Yuan and, for group sessions, all other participants present.
Heng Yuan reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a session if their conduct is materially disruptive, disrespectful, or otherwise contrary to the calm learning environment we seek to maintain. In such a case, no refund will be issued.
8. Intellectual Property
All materials provided during our programmes — including printed handbooks, written session summaries, slides, and any other materials — are the intellectual property of Heng Yuan. Participants may use these materials for their own personal reference and learning. Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, shared publicly, or used for any commercial purpose without the prior written consent of Heng Yuan.
9. Limitation of Liability
Heng Yuan's programmes are educational. We make no representation that the content of any programme will produce a particular financial outcome for any participant. The application of general financial education to personal circumstances depends on many factors specific to each individual, and those are beyond our knowledge or control.
To the extent permitted by Singapore law, Heng Yuan's total liability to any participant arising from or in connection with a programme shall not exceed the fee paid by that participant for that programme. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental loss of any kind.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Personal Data
We collect and use personal data in connection with enrolment and the delivery of our programmes. The full details of how we handle personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of the agreement between us when you enrol.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms or any programme shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in effect at the time of your enrolment are those that apply to your programme. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date and will apply to enrolments made after that date.
