A Careful Look at Your Household Finances
Small-group sessions for adults in their forties and fifties who would like to understand household finance clearly and quietly — at their own pace, in a room where questions are welcome.
Our Programmes
Three Ways to Engage
Each programme is designed for a different situation. Take a moment to consider which one suits where you are now.
The Shophouse Series
A four-session group held on Wednesday evenings. Each session covers one subject — the household balance sheet, cash flow and CPF, protection, and the longer arc of investing. Small group of twelve, calm pace.
- 4 sessions, Wednesday evenings
- Printed handbook included
- Maximum 12 participants
The Considered Household Course
A nine-week course covering the full Singapore household financial picture — CPF, the Supplementary Retirement Scheme, investments, Singapore Savings Bonds, housing, and estate documents. Cohorts of fifteen.
- 9 weeks, comprehensive curriculum
- CPF and SRS in depth
- Maximum 15 participants
The Shutters Track
A six-session bespoke programme shaped around your household — retirement now within view, a portfolio accumulated over many years, the question of supporting an ageing parent, or writing a household summary document.
- 6 private sessions, ~2.5 months
- Written summary after each session
- Shaped entirely by your household
Why Heng Yuan
What We Bring to the Table
Singapore-Centred Content
Every session is built around the Singapore household — CPF, HDB, SRS, Singapore Savings Bonds. Nothing borrowed from a foreign syllabus.
Small, Considered Groups
No lecture-hall numbers here. Groups are kept small so that questions are comfortable, conversation is natural, and the pace suits the room.
No Products, No Pressure
We do not sell financial products. Our only purpose is education. You leave with knowledge, not with something you did not come in planning to buy.
Pace That Fits Your Life
Evening sessions, manageable durations, programmes spread over weeks rather than intensive weekends. Designed for people who still work or keep full days.
Written Materials Included
Printed handbooks and, for bespoke clients, session summaries in writing. Something to return to at the dining table, not just slides you cannot recall.
Private and Discreet
Household finances are a personal matter. Our seminar rooms are quiet, our bespoke sessions are fully private, and we do not share your details with anyone.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are these programmes designed for?
Our programmes are designed for Singapore residents in their forties and fifties — people who have been earning and saving for some years and would like to understand their overall household financial picture more clearly. You do not need any prior knowledge of finance to attend.
Will anyone try to sell me something?
No. Heng Yuan is an education provider, not a financial products distributor. We do not hold any representative licences and we do not offer or sell investment products, insurance, or any other financial instruments. You will leave with knowledge, not with a policy or fund you did not ask for.
How small are the groups?
The Shophouse Series is capped at twelve participants. The Considered Household Course takes a maximum of fifteen. The Shutters Track is fully private — just your household and the facilitator. These limits are firm; we do not exceed them.
Where do the sessions take place?
Group sessions are held in our seminar room at 73 Hong Kong Street, Singapore 059670. The building is a restored shophouse and the room is quiet, with natural light and seating at a long table. The Shutters Track bespoke sessions are also held here, in a private seminar room on the same floor.
How do I know which programme is right for me?
If you are new to thinking about your household finances and would like a calm introduction, the Shophouse Series is a good starting point. If you have specific matters to work through — a retirement that is coming soon, a portfolio to organise, a parent to consider — the Shutters Track may suit you better. You are welcome to write to us and describe your situation; we will tell you honestly which one fits.
How is payment made?
Payment is by bank transfer to our Singapore account. Details are provided upon confirmation of your place. For the Considered Household Course and the Shutters Track, a 50% deposit secures your place with the balance due before the second session.
What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We ask for seven days' notice if you need to withdraw from a group programme. Where possible, we will offer a place in the next available cohort. For bespoke sessions, individual sessions can be rescheduled with 48 hours' notice. Full details are set out in the booking confirmation you receive.
